Hmm... He looks familiar...Well, of course he looks familiar, silly, he's Michael Vartan! Michael was born on November 27, 1968 in Boulonge-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, Ile-de-France, France. Of course I can say that! I'm not taking French for nothing, you know. Anyway, if you're still not sure where you know Michael from, here's a little hint: NEVER BEEN KISSED. Okay, so it's a big hint, but still...
Let's start with the basics. Michael lived in France until he was 18 years old. When he moved to the U.S., he spent four years, yes, four years, playing as a "pool shark." And yes, he did have one of those pool names. He was known as "The Poodle." Why? Well, watch his interviews and find out. He's a hoot!
Anyway, one day, Michael decided that he wanted to give acting a try. He had a teeny role in his first American movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everthing, Julie Newmar in 1995. He moved on in 1996 with role of Scott in The Pallbearer, which starred Gwyneth Paltrow and David Schwimmer. Not a bad gig, wouldn't you say?
In 1997, he starred in two movies. First as Adam in the dramatic/romantic film Touch Me, co-starring Amanda Peet. Next, The Myth of Fingerprints, a comedic drama, which also starred ER's Noah Wyle, as well as Julianne Moore.
In 1998, Michael starred with Scooby-Doo's Matthew Lillard in the comedy/thriller The Curve.
But in 1999, Michael hit the big jackpot. He won the role of Sam Coulson, a high school English teacher, in the beloved comedy Never Been Kissed, co-starring Drew Barrymore and David Arquette. Young girls everywhere swooned at Michael's smooth words and sweet voice, and he became the poster boy for hot teachers. Oh, if only your English teacher looked like that right? I know how you feel.
In 2000, Michael went on to co-star with Madonna and Rupert Everett in the film The Next Best Thing, and in the film Sand with Kari Wuhrer (Sliders). Sand was Michael's second movie with Kari, who also co-starred with him in Touch Me. He also starred with Natasha Henstridge in the romantic comedy It Had to Be You. What can I say? The man's got connections.
In 2001, Michael hit more gold. He starred with Julianna Margulies as Lancelot in the TV miniseries Mists of Avalon, which was nominated for a numerous amount of Golden Globe and Academy Awards. However, after he finished the series up, TV beckoned once again. He was "recruited" to star as CIA Agent Michael Vaughn on ABC's new show, Alias. Michael jumped at the chance, and, once again, his handsome face has been living safe in the hearts of all his female fans. Michael has also made some notable guest appearances on television shows such as Friends (The One With Chandler In a Box), and Ally McBeal.
In 2002, Michael starred with Robin Williams in the hit independent film One Hour Photo. It was Michael's second commercially successful film, and the film has received rave reviews for all the performances in it. Michael was also named one of People's 50 Most Eligible Bachelors, and remains single today.
