Operation: Top Secret

Episode 11
"A Higher Echelon"

-Suit And Glasses has Marshall and is torturing him.

-Suit and Glasses is in a wheelchair.

-Alliance honcho Ariana Kane suspends Jack's security clearance and network privileges at SD-6 pending her investigation of the Emily situation. She clearly suspects him of blackmailing Sloane over it.

-Sydney and Dixon go on a mission to the Ministry of Culture and Information in Ho Chi Mihn City.

-Francie tells Will that she's worried about Sydney because all she does is work. She says that Sydney told her about a new guy at work named Michael and that she seemed happy about when she was talking about him -- but they can't date because of the bank rules. He's dating someone else and Sydney is pining.

-Vaughn gives Will a job as an analyst for the CIA, reviewing classified documents and filing reports. He'll have a cover as a journalist with a CIA-front travel publication.

My Take:

Hmmm...interesting. Very interesting, indeed. First of all, poor Marshall! If JJ hurts my Marshall Babe, hes going to be sorry! Great continuity with Suit and Glasses in the wheelchair.

About Ariana Kane, in no possible way is she going to overpower Jack. Hell find a way to get out of this in no time flat.

I find it surprising that Sydney would tell Francie about Vaughn. Its kind of morbid, actually. And the fact that Wills going to find out about Sydneys feelings for Vaughn is going to totally screw everything up, especially since Will has to work with Vaughn. You just know hes going to be asking question after question:

"Okay, I got you a job with the CIA. Youre going to be analyst, reviewing documents, filing reportsstuff like that. Youre going to have a cover as a journalist."

"Wow, awesome! Thank you so much."

            "Hey, it was no problem."

"Yeah...do you have feelings for Sydney?"

            "What?!"

"I mean do you like her?"

            "Why would you ask that?"

            "Well, I want to know..."

Episode 12
"The Getaway"

ABC PRESS RELEASE:

"The Getaway" While Alliance counterintelligence head Ariana Kane (Faye Dunaway, "Chinatown," "Network," "Bonnie and Clyde") tracks Sydney in order to catch her fugitive father, Jack elicits Irina's help in finding Sloane's blackmailer. Meanwhile, Sydney and Vaughn risk exposing their covers to SD-6 when they share a romantic dinner together while on a case in France, on "Alias," SUNDAY, JANUARY 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Note: Hmmm...is that Amy Irving I see in the credits? Sounds like Sloane may be getting a little surprise...

-Jack meets a contact at a movie theater, but the contact has been shot. Another agent pulls a gun on Jack, but Jack kills him without drawing any attention to them. Other agents chase him, but he gets away when Sydney pulls up in a car outside the theater.

-Jack goes to see Irina, who asks if he's considering going into witness protection. He says he isn't, because that would leave Sydney exposed, and he doesn't want her to come with him to live looking over her shoulder. He wants Irina's help in brainstorming.

-Sloane meets with Ariana Kane, who is behind the hunt for Jack. She also has suspicions about Sydney, although Sloane dismisses them.

-Vaughn and Weiss (Hes back!) track Sydney on a mission. Vaughn is cranky because he and Syd apparently had a fight.

-Weiss counsels Vaughn that he should tell Sydney how he feels; after his near-death experience, he's in "carpe diem" mode.

-Vaughn and Sydney have dinner -- and lots of wine -- in a restaurant, in France, and discuss Vaughn playing pool. The proprietor offers them a key for a room upstairs. "And then they fall into a charged silence -- both afraid to acknowledge what they're thinking: can we actually do this -- ?!"

My Take:

Wow, this sounds like its going to be a kick-ass episode! We get Action!Jack, Irina/Jack collaboration, the return of Greg Grunberg, Supportive!Weiss, and Flirty!Syd/Vaughn! However, before you get too excited about the possible Vaughn/Syd smoochage scenario, look at the rest of the spoilers:

While Sydney and Vaughn are at Rousseau Restaurant, "Leather Jacket" and "Black Sweater" run Vaughn's photo. After Claude Rousseau gives Vaughn the phone, all hell breaks loose. Syd and Vaughn dive for cover. Vaughn starts shooting, hitting the bar, causing glass to go all over. Sydney hits someone with a bottle. Syd and Vaughn run out, being chased by Leather Jacket. They're caught, but Vaughn takes out the guards.

In order of occurrence:

- Rousseau shows Syd & Vaughn to table
- Vaughn tells Syd about his code name; Weiss interjects
- Syd and Vaughn talk about staying over
- Rousseau gives Vaughn the phone; all hell breaks loose

Let's say it together, now: Damn you, JJ!
